I was delighted to receive the Pravins Sellier wide stirrup leather from Glaze & Gordan at the perfect time to put them to the test. I had recently broken my ankle, and needed all the help I could get with stability upon my return to the saddle.

They are made with high quality pre-stretched leather. They were a little tough to get through my stirrup bars as with any new leather until it begins to soften. As soon as I got back in the saddle I felt my lower leg was a lot more secure. The more you think about it your lower leg is supported by the leathers, and its mainly all that you use for support so to have it wider makes sense to provide a more secure & stable lower leg. I felt really comfy using them in the saddle which I tested on both my dressage and jump saddles. Not only do they offer this, but the wide stirrup leather will provide a long service and unfaultable reliability, and they do not twist!!

They did not look out of place, or any different when in the saddle. If you wish to purchase these them please visit

Taken from the Pravins Website

The stirrup leathers are available in 3 sizes 125 – 135 – 145 cm
The stirrup leathers made by Atelier de Pravins resist to a weight of 90kg (around 198 pounds) for the rider. In the case of an intensive use, and for safety reasons, Atelier de Pravins recommends renewing its stirrup leather when they start extending or show important wearing marks (around every 6 months). We strongly discourage the use of any nourishing product such as oil or lubricant. A basic cleaning with a glycerin saddle soap is enough to maintain the stirrup leathers. Atelier de Pravins accepts no responsibility in case of breaking, as concerns leathers goods, therefore destined to evolve.
