Putting that behind us we returned the day after with Annie for the Yorkshire Challenge. I very nearly didn't turn up after the previous day and remembering the last 2 years of attempting to get round the Yorkshire Challenge XC, which wasn't successful I really wasn't feeling the most confident!
I went into dressage so relaxed, I wasn't worried for this phase at all and just enjoyed every moment! She pulled an absolutely amazing test out the bag for 28.3 to sit us in 2nd place!!!! It was certainly a high light this season and I was so proud of her for coping in the busy atmosphere and long jazzy arena!
Now XC is before show jumping... I walked the course twice. It was as you'd expected technical and long! I knew if I got over the first ABC combination we would be so much more confident about the rest of course. Annie absolutely aced it!! In fact the whole course was a joy to ride. She made it feel easy! Seeing mum waiting at the finishing line blubbering was very emotional! I was so glad to actually finish. I did pick up 7.2 time pens but even so I was delighted. We dropped down the leader board from 2nd to about 17th. You can watch our full round here...
We are both back out in a few weeks to Western. So hoping it all comes together for us both and we can take a frilly home!
