So after our first 100 at Somerford Park we headed to Shelford Manor. It was a really great day with our first sub 30 dressage test! Woohooo! A 29.5! We were super happy and managed to move up 2 places to finish 5th with a double clear! Her sixth double clear in a row. We were 1 placing out from picking up another RF but was delighted with her PB dressage.
We was hoping not eventing for a couple of weeks the weather would improve as the last 2 times I have gone Cross country in heavy sometimes torrential rain :( Unfortuntely Skipton weather wasn't much better!
The warm up's didn't get much better! The show jumping was horrific we had a very uncharacteristic stop warming up which upset Annie a lot sliding under the fence, It had started raining and I was wondering if it was becoming slippy on top, it was really strange. I tried not to let it get to me and popped over some smaller fences. I must admit I was the most nervous I have been going into show jumping!! Surprisingly Annie was fantastic we had such an unlucky 4 faults when she jumped slightly left over fence 3 going into the trade stands and just caught it, but on the whole we both came out smiling... thank goodness! Confidence restored!
We have a very busy weekend next week which we didn't plan! After our Riding Club ODE qualifier was cancelled due to the weather that moved to Saturday the 2nd and I have the Pony Club area dressage qualifier on the Sunday, always the case when you have a 'quiet' weekend planned originally!
To finish off June good and proper we have seen that Annie has made it into the top 20 horses in the British eventing foundation points league.
