The dressage felt like a complete joke this time. I had woken Candy up in the hope we would break the 38 dressage score curse!! In fact it went the complete opposite way I had hoped and we scored worse this time! The only good thing to take away from this test was the fact the trot work was much improved and we scored 7's and even our first 8!! (must be going in the right direction surely?!) The medium trots even improved by one mark for 7's this time, so not all bad. This time the canter suffered, if you was watching my test from afar it looked like I was doing an advanced test (ok a bad one!) There were many flying changes it looked like something from dressage to music!! Obviously not as elegant! Naughty Candy!
We set out of the start box with the main aim to get as close to the time as possible. One benefit of having a speedway rider as your boyfriend is that he understands the concept of going fast and the best lines to take, so he was determined to help me get the time this week and boy did we manage it! I was in shock to tell you the truth when I glanced down at my watch 2 fences from home to find out it wasn't beeping at me. Had it broke? No it hadn't I was actually 6 seconds quicker then the optimum time... HALLELUJAH. Candy jumped amazing I was so pleased with her efforts and she felt as fit as a fiddle! Despite the shocking dressage we managed to climb all the way up the score board to 11th place, which I was totally chuffed with as it was a big section full of well known riders.
One more run left until Chatsworth fingers crossed we can both keep our eye on the ball.
