After Lady went to Weston Lawns for a bit of BSJA, I took her to our local centre Stubley Hollow to run through a simple dressage test. The idea was to get her used to the white boards and going out to do something a lot less fun than Show Jumping. She warmed up well in the indoor, a little eager but she soon settled. She went outside to perform the test, into an arena she had never been in before. She had a little look at the dressage boards but after a lap around the outside it never became an issue. The test was a great try for our first, she even scored 8's for her trot work when I could hold it all together, the canter wasn't quite as well established or balanced resulting in her going on the incorrect lead, and she decided to nap and the exit, but we both stayed calm to finish the test well. I was extremely proud of her.
Candy went in to do a Novice test which she did really nicely. It really makes me appreciate how well schooled Candy is after riding the baby! She again scored some good marks to come 2nd.
So the plan is they are both entered into Chatsworth, Lady the 4yo BYEH and Candy the testing Novice track which I am so excited about, I never imagined at 6 years old she would be tackling this track. Let's hope it all goes right on the day for her. Huge thanks to Julie Sayner who has sponsored this event. We have one last run before at Moreton Morrell where I have never been so that will be nice to jump round new course. Just after Chatsworth I am lucky enough to be going to Ireland with Holly, this will be such a great experience and make an interesting article I am sure!
I have also been really busy with my 2 of my sponsors Caviera Bedding and Emvelo. Caviera recently launched a competition to win a pallet of 30 bales as soon as we reached 1000 likes on facebook. We had a huge response and had hit over 2000 likes in 24 hours of starting the page. This has then grown into just over 3500 likes in just a week and resulted in new stockists all over England. Visit there facebook page as they run mini competitions regularly and I'm guessing they might run another big comp for 5000 likes! https://www.facebook.com/cavierabedding. You can ask for a sample pack for just £1.60 anywhere in the UK.
Lastly my other sponsor www.superxcountry.co.uk have now launched custom breathable cross country sets. To put it simply you can have pretty much anything and still all for under £45.00!
Lets hope May will be the end of "April Showers" I really hope so!
